yes it is safe but i wouldnt advise on a home job. you need to get it done professionally in a salon and they will probably have to use a filler first.

this stops throwing colours you are not after.

they need to replace all the colour pigment you have taken out of your hair all this time before you get the end result. if you go to a good salon with a good rep you should have no worries.

As long as you haven't dyed it recently, it's fine. If you have dyed it recently, just, deep condition before and after you dye it your new, darker shade. Good luck.
